River Exe Cruises

Crealy Adventure Park

Explore one of the West Country’s biggest indoor adventures. Only 20 minutes from Exmouth by car Crealy Adventure Park is a great day out for all the family, come rain or shine. Ride the Trains, whirl in the Bumper Boats, race rip-roaring Go-Karts and get close to the friendliest animals you’ll ever meet. Open Daily from 10am-6pm (Summer) Thursday – Sunday 10am – 5pm (Winter). Discount vouchers can be obtained at reception.

Bicton Botanical Gardens

One of Devon’s attractive and historic Gardens. There is a small Railway that runs around the gardens with indoor and outdoor Children’s Play Areas. Open 364 days a year (closed Christmas day). Enjoy 60 acres of gardens, a 19th Century tropical Palm House, an Indoor Exhibition Hall, which includes traction engines, vintage machinery and Victorian artefacts and of course beautiful and majestic gardens.  Opening Times– 10.00am to 5.00pm

Watch a play, have a dance or

possibly head down to the sea front during the day and have a light bite to eat.

The Donkey Sanctuary

Just outside the timeless charming town of Sidmouth, the Donkey Sanctuary is home to around 500 donkeys. Set in unspoilt farmland and countryside, visitors are free to spend time meeting the donkeys, taking strolls along their fields or more energetic walks down to the sea. Open 8:30am till dusk.

Exeter Cathedral

The church of St. Peter’s is one not to be missed and there are guided tours available for a small charge of £4.00. Please see notice in church for times. Opening time - 10am to 4.45pm

You can travel the world at Paignton - over £6 million has been spent creating one of the best Zoos in the country. There are scorched deserts, savannahs, jungles and rainforests set in 80 acres of natural habitat. It’s a great day out for all the family.  Open 10am – 4.30pm (last admission at 3.30pm).

National Marine Aquarium Plymouth

A La Ronde

Summer Lane, Exmouth EX8 5BD (National Trust) Get details of opening times and offers from reception. Unique 16-sided house built for Jane & Mary Parminter, on their return from a European Grand Tour in the late 18th century. It contains many objects and mementos of their travels and the extraordinary interior decoration includes a feather frieze from many species of birds. A shell-encrusted gallery, said to contain nearly 25,000 shells. New exhibition and sale of work every two weeks. Gift shop and licensed tea room, Discovery Room with dressing up, silhouette and shell activities. Enjoy free garden games – croquet, snakes & ladders and more. Free parking on-site, good bus service, or enjoy a bike ride to A La Ronde via the Exe cycle path.

The Eden Project

One of the West Country’s most popular attractions. This is a memorable day out and a great chance to see some of the largest, tallest or strangest plants from around the globe, inside the largest greenhouse in the world. The route is from the A30 to St. Austell. Approx. travel time is one and a half hours from Devoncourt.

Local Cycle Rides

Exmouth to Darts Farm and onto Exeter or The Turf Locks

The Exe Trail cycle and footpath has recently been completed to Darts Farm, outside of Topsham. This can then be added to and, for the adventurous, an extra 3 miles will take you to the Turf Locks Hotel a wonderful ‘watering hole’ situated at the beginning one of the country’s oldest canals or alternatively you can cycle alongside the canal up to Exeter’s quayside. Here you can walk into the city centre or, possibly, hire a canoe or kyak to see the canal from the waterline.

Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton and Otterton to Otterton Mill

The cycle track that extends from Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton and through the town and on, alongside the River Otter, to Otterton where the path leads to the famous Otterton Mill where fresh bread and food are served.

Exmouth to Woodbury Common

A cycle ride or walk up onto the Common land of Woodbury is a moderate climb up onto the high ground above Exmouth.
